Dr. Yongtae  PARK
Professor of Industrial Engineering
Seoul National University, Korea

Dr. Yongtae Park is a professor of industrial engineering at the Seoul National University (SNU), Korea. He holds BS in industrial engineering from SNU, MS and PhD in operations management, both from University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. Before joining SNU, He was Head of Industrial Innovation Research Unit of Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI) and, in addition, served as Advisor to Minister of Science and Technology of Korean Government. At SNU, Professor Park established and long supervised the Graduate Program of Technology Management. Then, he assumed the role of Director of Advanced Industrial Strategy Program and Director of Engineering Research Institute (ERI). Also, Professor Park was President of the Korean Society for Innovation Management and Economics.

He has published more than 100 articles in leading international journals and authored 6 books on technology management. In 2009, he received the Award for Top 50 Researchers in Technology Innovation Management by the International Association of Management of Technology (IAMOT) and Elsevier.

Dr. Jong Guk SONG
President
Science and Technology Policy Institute, Korea

Dr. Jong Guk Song has been the president of the Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI) since 2011. His career as a researcher at STEPI has spanned over two decades and also in government, science and technology societies, universities and independent civil organizations.

Dr. Song serves as a fellow for the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC, 2013.07 ~ now) and he is a Creative Economy Selective Committee of the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI, 2013.04 ~ now). He is the director at the International Research and Training Center for Science and Technology Strategy (CISTRAT, 2012.09 ~ now). He is also the fellow for the Natural Science Sub-committee at the Korean National Commission for UNESCO (2012.03 ~ now). He has also been a member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea since 2011.

Prior to his recent occupations, he was an executive advisor of the Education and Science Policy Division at the 18th Presidential Transition Committee (2013.01 ~ 2013.02) and an advisory committee of the Global Human Resource Forum (2012.05 ~ 2013.05). He was the president of the Korean Society for Technology Management and Economics (2010.03 ~ 2011.02) and the chairman of the Evaluation Committee at the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (2006.10 ~ 2011.08). Besides a wealth of experiences listed above, he has consecutively filled various committee positions related to science and technology improvements.

Dr. Song received the Excellent National Researcher Award by the Minister of Science and Technology in 1997. He was also awarded by STEPI with its Presidential Award for an outstanding report and outstanding researcher.  Dr. Song holds a B.A. and M.A. in Economics from Sogang University and Ph.D. in Economics from Texas A&M University.
